  1. Cool-down routine: This is the routine that you will use before each practice or race, it should include a short walk, moderate speed swim, and a few deep breaths.

  1. warm-up: This is the routine that you will use before each practice or race, it should include basic exercises such as push-ups, sit-ups, and squats.

  1. anaerobic training: This refers to swimming at high speeds without any air resistance, you can do this by swimming in open water or by using a swimmer’s dummy.

  1. neuromuscular training: This refers to swimming with assistance from weights or by using a machine that helps you breathe through your mouth and control your muscles.

  1. progressive overload: This refers to teaching your body how to work harder and faster in order to improve your performance over time you can do this by doing sets of reps that are beyond what you’ve been doing before.

  1. interval training: This is when you take a short break between sets of exercises to give your body time to rest and recover before starting another set of exercises.
